Carrying His Fire to the Nations

EMERGENCY RELIEF TEAMS

Matthew 25 is all about preparation, stewardship and meeting the needs of mankind. The ER is fully committed to doing just that. As you read this, ask the Lord if you can help us to help them. Isaiah 22:22 says what you shut no one can open and what you open, no one can shut. We are shutting the doors of hopelessness and despair by bringing trucks full of life and love and opening the doors of faith, hope and love. For the past ten years we have committed our resources to feeding, clothing and visiting Jesus by feeding, clothing and visiting those in need. Maybe you can't just jump in the truck, or plane and come along with us but you can help us to go and you will receive the same reward. We are all a part of the same team and the same body, every joint supplies something and it is desperately needed in this hour.

Here are a few things to consider:

If everyone that has visited our web site in the past year donated just $2.22, look at what we could have done.

With $22,000.00 we could have:

served 7333 more meals
given away 500 more food baskets
distributed 1466 more back packs with school supplies
provided 2200 more packages of diapers
given 2200 more phone cards to people to call home or the ER for prayer
paid for 110 people to have fuel oil or gas to heat their homes
filled the van's gas tank 314 more times to distribute supplies
provided 63 people diabetic supplies for a month
bought 2000 more pairs of shoes so children can go to school
provided 7333 bottles of fresh water
bought over 20,000 rolls of toilet paper
sent a team of 10 into10 new areas in the United States
bought two 50 x 50 steel buildings for churches

Well, you get the picture! Every joint suppling. That is the heart of the King.

This year the ER is planning on continuing its missions to the Illinois Valley, Chicago, South Dakota and Kentucky as well as expanding into other Indian Reservations and Haiti. If there is a need and we can meet it, we plan to!

If everyone would give their $2.22, $22.22, $222.22, $2222.22....That's a lot of 2's! they seem so small but multiply so quickly.

If you would like to donate supplies, this is what we are in need of right now:

Paper products, cleaning supplies, shampoo, soap, laundry soap, tooth paste, tooth brushes, basic medical supplies (band-aids, pain relievers, cold tablets, etc.) diapers, wipes, new socks, hair brushes, toys, canned goods, rice, cereal, noodles, bottled water, school supplies, closed toe shoes for orphans in Haiti, gas cards, phone cards, baby clothes, furniture and of course cash.

Pray and ask the Lord what He wants you to do. Please donate your $2.22 right now and watch God open doors for you!

Jesus in the rubble

I have been on several debris cleaning teams from tornado damage but was completely unprepared for what I saw in Alabama. I have stood in the midst of the rubble left by tornado's but this time I was on the teams that helped to reclaim personal items. As we drove past the devastation, I was shocked. Entire subdivisions were gone. A few walls stood on a few houses, but most of them were totally destroyed. Trees were stacked up along side of the road and debris was everywhere. I thanked God that so many lives were spared.

We pulled into the subdivision that we were helping and began to unload all the supplies. We had driven all night and were anxious to get moving, so we tackled our task with ease and excitement. We wanted to get our hands dirty.

Many on the team had just graduated from our Cross Training Class on April 2nd and had never been deployed before. They were just as ready to dive in as I was. We divided the team into three smaller teams and got busy.

I was on the team that went into a home to reclaim her personal objects. She had broken her back in the tornado and could not get anything out. I could barely believe my eyes as we stepped into her yard. The first thought I had was, where do you start. debris was everywhere. We climbed through the rubble to get to what was left of the kitchen. There was two walls in tact. The roof and back wall were gone and food was scattered everywhere. Someone had looted her refrigerator and dumped the food on the floor. It had been there two weeks by the time we got there. Needless to say, the smell was incredible.

But hidden under that nasty mess, was her silverware. So we uncovered it and reclaimed it for her. We later found her dentures and other personal items under a collapsed wall. Photo's that had been drenched were buried around her property and we recovered those as well.

In the second house we were in, the front door of the stove was blown off but on top of the stove, the pan that held the evening meal, was still in tack, not even touched. It was an amazing thing to think that wind can do so much damage and then a foot away, it's not touched at all.

It was difficult to dig through the rubble just to give the families something to hold on to. It was even more difficult for me on Sunday morning as we held a worship service in the front yard of a house about to be demolished. I sang, "Save Me" and could barely contain my emotions. These people in minutes, lost everything they had, everything they worked for. Most have insurance but some do not. No one will be able to reclaim what was lost on April 27th.

I am thankful for what the Lord has blessed me with but I am more thankful that He has given me a heart to see and an ear to hear. Every trip I am on, I find His heart. This trip, I saw Him birthing hope out of the rubble. Though we don't always immediately feel Him, He is there bringing life out of death because that's the kind of God He is. I am just glad to be a part of what He is doing.

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

Help, our cupboards are bare! We depleted all of our supplies over the past few trips and need some help filling our shelves again. If you can donate current season clothes, boxed or canned food, paper products, hygiene products, gas cards, bottled water, sheets, blankets and towels, we will distribute them to as many people as we can. Thank you for helping us to help them.
The ER will be going to Haiti Sept. 19th. If you can help with vitamins, basic first aid supplies, soaps, shampoo, cough medicines and basic health medicines, we will be gathering supplies until Sept. 15th. Thank you!

ALABAMA BRIDE RISE

The ER was in  Alabama seven days after the tornado hit with twenty members of the newly graduated Cross Training Honor Academy team provided help to those suffering from the tornado.

We provided food, clothes, household supplies and medical supplies. The Team helped two families reclaim their personal property that was buried in the rubble and cleared rubble for two families that did not have insurance coverage for cleanup. Here are some photo's to show you the destruction. Our prayer for the people of Alabama is that they find hope in the midst of the rubble.

Here is a link to the television interview the team did.
